TOURNEY SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

Please do not proceed unless you have spoken to a training HTD.

        STEP 1 LOGGING IN

Log into the TD Admin Site at http://tourneys.igl.net/tk
Enter your td name and pw

        STEP 2 TD MENU

You'll see a menu like the one below:

Most of these are self explanatory we are going to focus on the ones that require instructions.. the other fun stuff you can discover on your own.

        * Administer Tournament: This is where you can enter list of current tourneys that you have pending. Once in there you'll simply click on the jump # of the one you are ready to do. * Create Tournament: This is where you go to set up a new tourney!

        STEP 3: CHOOSING TOURNEY TYPE

As a TD for the 1st 10 Tourneys you are only able to perform Bracket Style (Single-elim) aka. S/E’s After 10 tourneys you’ll be evaluated to see if more training is needed prior to moving on to Swiss.

        * Choose Bracket Style ..Click Submit

        STEP 4: SETTING TOURNEY DATE

Just click on the yellow date link that you want to do your tourney … keeping in mind that the day rolls over at 12 midnight

        STEP 5: SETTING TOURNEY TIME

Click on the yellow link for the time that you would like to do yours … for S/E please leave a 2 hr gap, for swiss it would be 3 hrs unless your doing 5 minute round fill ins.

        STEP 6: SETTING TOURNEY OPTIONS

Alot of these options aren't used regularly. We'll go over the ones used for all the tourneys and what they should be set at. Others you may use later as you are trained in different styles.

        * Name of Tournament (optional): ~ Go ahead be creative.. within reason, no profanity, etc.

        * Location: - Vaults / 30s / Seafood, etc & any special code if necessary

        * Tourney Style- Always CLASSIC

        * Number of Rounds:- For S/E this is set to 8. This doesn't mean that is how many rounds there will be .. it depends on the # of players... for Swiss this would be 4.

        * Minutes between Round Start Times: ~ 20 is a good time .

These options aren't used for S/E and will be learned later. Leave set to defaults

Most folks get confused on the next part.. Ladderbux settings.

No entry fee; No prize or LadderBux rewards ~ is used for your first 5 tourneys.. there are no bux at all.

No entry fee; LadderBux to top finishers HELP ~ is used for your 6th-10th tourneys no entry fee but baby bux to the top finishers.

LadderBux entry fee; LadderBux to top finishers Entry Fee ~ this can't be used until tourney #11 drop down lets you choose between 5-100 bux entry... this is a hard decision.. too high and they don't want to play... too low and its not worth it. Use your past experience to judge 50-60 is a good start.

        Click Create !!

        STEP 7: OPEN CHECK-IN

Now this part is important to remember to open the check-in for the tourney it will only allow you to do this on the day of the tourney ... so form good habits otherwise you'll have players registered that won't be checked in. You'll have to advise them to return to the tourney page and click on Teams/Checkin .. if you do not they will get dropped out of the tourney.

This is the central point of operating your tourney everything will keep bringing you back to this page.

If a player needs to be taken out of the game you will choose their name from the drop down box and click Remove Team button. Make sure you have the right player there is no reversing it !

THIS IS WHERE YOU CHANGE SEEDING FROM DEFAULT RATING TO RANDOM THIS IS THE FAIREST OPTION FOR THE PLAYERS! VERY IMPORTANT STEP

        EDIT TOURNAMENT INFO:

This is used alot to alter tourney information such as date, time, change from am/pm, this is also where you go to add TD Bux Donations ( you can do a certain # of donations a month depending on your membership you have to get thru your freebees first!)
